Located at the foot of Montmartre in a district of Paris in full revival, the cooperative La Fabrique de la Goutte d’Or is part of the Pôle des Gouttes d’Or de la Mode et du Design. At a time when the fashion industry is increasingly interested in the issue of local and eco-responsible textile production based on ethical sourcing, and while the Made in France is seeking to continue its development, the cooperative comes as an obvious initiative by making the “locally-made” its major asset.
The Fabrique de la Goutte d’Or sees itself as a collaborative production tool that offers the full range of services necessary for the development and success of a textile label. It essentially develops three types of services. First of all, for the brands, it offers top-of-the-range and luxury manufacturers nearby who are able to respond to orders quickly, accurately and reliably. Then, the association assists the designers in their plans of collections from the conception until the assembly and the confection. Finally, it welcomes young creators in the form of coaching sessions to help them at each stage of the creative process. In addition to making its know-how available, La Fabrique de la Goutte d’Or provides all its customers with the services of a purchasing group. It can provide them with organic and fair trade textiles from Africa, as well as obtain them from the local artisans of the association of the Gouttes d’Or de la Mode et du Design, including embroidery and silkscreen printing.
By setting up in a Parisian district and taking the form of a collaborative tool, La Fabrique de la Goutte d’Or wishes to achieve several objectives: solidarity exchange, sharing of know-how and tools, establishment of local partnership relations and development of competitiveness.
